The 2023 USFL season comes to a conclusion on Saturday night, with the 2023 USFL Championship Game. This year's matchup has the Birmingham Stallions (8-2) trying to repeat after winning the title last year. This year, after finishing with the league's best record once again) they face a new opponent in this game, in the North Division regular season and postseason champion Pittsburgh Maulers (4-6). This year was the Maulers' first trip to the playoffs overall, after finishing last season with the worst record in the league. Neither city appeared in the championship game in the initial iteration of the USFL in the 1980s.

This game features the top offense in the USFL this year against the top defense. Led by quarterback Alex McGough, the Stallions averaged 28.7 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh surrendered just 17.8 points per game. 

These two teams met once during the regular season, back in Week 4. The Stallions won that game 24-20. 

The 2023 USFL Championship Game will take place at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBC.
